Mr. Faiz brings more than 15 years of distinguished experience in the banking and financial sector, with a strong track record across internationally recognized and national institutions, including the World Bank Funded Projects, Da Afghanistan Bank (DAB), Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Industries and Commerce, Azizi Bank, and Microfinance institutions (MFIs). His extensive professional background has enabled him to develop deep expertise in financial sector regulation, institutional governance, and sustainable financial development.
During his career, he has held several key leadership roles, including Audit Advisor, Head of Payments, Head of Operations, Case Inspection Manager, and Deputy Off-site Supervision Section. Through these roles, he has gained comprehensive knowledge of MSME, auditing, payments and settlement, microfinance operations, credit and portfolio management, regulatory oversight, and financial operations, enabling him to design and implement strategies that promote institutional resilience, effective risk management, and long-term growth.
Mr. Faiz holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with Distinction from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, India. In recognition of his outstanding academic achievement, he was awarded the Academic Excellence Award by the Embassy of Afghanistan in New Delhi. Alongside his executive responsibilities, he contributes to academic development as a visiting lecturer at leading universities in Kabul, sharing his expertise and mentoring the next generation of finance and business professionals.
Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Zabihullah Majeedi serves as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Shahy Khazana Microfinance (SKM), He leads the Finance Department and oversees financial management, ensuring that accounting principles are properly implemented and that financial policies, procedures, and reporting are aligned with the institution’s strategic objectives and DAB regulations.
Mr. Majeedi brings over 14 years of proven experience in accounting, finance, audit, MIS, and administration, primarily within the microfinance sector and with national and international non-governmental organizations.
His expertise includes the development and implementation of financial policies, internal controls, procedures, and reporting frameworks. He has extensive practical experience in credit operations, financial compliance, ethics, financial management, and business continuity planning.
Prior to joining SKM, he held senior leadership roles at a leading microfinance institution in Afghanistan for six years, where he successfully managed multiple programs and projects, ensuring high-quality implementation within established timelines. During this period, he strengthened his managerial capabilities in financial management, budgeting, grants reporting, accounting, and auditing.
Mr. Majeedi holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Finance and a Diploma in General Management. He is committed to promoting strong financial governance, supporting sustainable institutional growth, and safeguarding SKM’s assets, clients, staff, and stakeholders.
Head of Operation
Mr. Sayed Irshad Attaye is a seasoned professional with over 11 years of experience in the microfinance sector. He holds a Bachelor’s degree and has built a strong reputation for his expertise in operational management, financial services, and institutional development.Currently serving as the Head of Operations at SKM, Mr. Attaye oversees the organization’s daily operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the delivery of high-quality services. He plays a pivotal role in strengthening internal processes, enhancing operational performance, and aligning activities with the strategic objectives of the institution.
Throughout his career, Mr. Attaye has developed extensive expertise in portfolio monitoring, team leadership, and performance management. Head of Internal Audit Department
Mohammad Wasim Kamawal is an accomplished Internal Audit Manager with extensive expertise in Afghanistan’s banking and microfinance sector. Currently leading the audit function at Shahy Khazana Microfinance Institution, he specializes in developing risk-based audit plans, ensuring regulatory and Sharia compliance, and strengthening internal controls to protect assets and improve operational efficiency.
With a career spanning role from Audit Officer to Deputy Audit Manager at New Kabul Bank and Mutahid Microfinance Institution, Mr. KAMAWAL has a deep, practical understanding of financial operations, branch auditing, and Islamic finance. He is a dedicated professional known for his integrity, analytical rigor, and ability to guide teams in delivering high-impact assurance.
He holds a Bachelor’s in Economics (Finance & Banking) from Kabul University, is pursuing an MBA, and is fluent in Pashto, Dari, and English.
Head of Risk Management
Ahmad Shoaib Shirzad serves as the Head of Risk Management at Shahy Khazana Islamic Microfinance (SKM), He leads SKM’s enterprise-wide risk management function, ensuring that risks are effectively identified, assessed, monitored, and managed in line with regulatory requirements, Shariah principles, and the institution’s business objectives.
Mr. Shirzad brings over 15 years of professional experience in internal audit and risk management within the banking sector, in addition to risk management experience with an international humanitarian organization. His expertise spans the design and implementation of risk management frameworks, risk appetite statements, policies, procedures, and reporting mechanisms. He has extensive hands-on experience across credit risk, operational risk, compliance, ethics, and business continuity management.
Prior to joining SKM, he held senior roles in commercial banking and international organizations, where he contributed to strengthening governance structures, internal controls, regulatory compliance, and institutional risk culture. He holds an MBA and a Diploma in Risk Management, and is committed to fostering a strong risk-aware culture, supporting sustainable growth, and safeguarding the interests of SKM’s clients, staff, and stakeholders.

Musaweer Noori is a seasoned compliance and management professional with extensive expertise in microfinance and financial services. He possesses a strong background in regulatory compliance, internal controls, portfolio monitoring, AML/CFT practices, and the implementation of organizational policies and procedures.
With a Master’s degree in Management Studies from India, Mr. Noori brings a deep understanding of financial operations, governance frameworks, and institutional standards. He has consistently supported organizations in enhancing operational efficiency, maintaining regulatory adherence, and fostering a culture of accountability and transparency.
